Farewell

I mourn you deeply dear friend.
Always I will treasure our sunlit hikes, roving searches for arrowheads, petroglyphs, discoveries of fragile flowers, and the tracking of meandering desert animal trails. But most cherished are moments spent together in silent understanding of ancient sisterhood.
May you walk beautifully forever in the light.

of feeling safe with a person, having neither
to weigh thoughts nor measure words.”
